Osmotic Survey
The osmotic survey is carried out on behalf of yacht owners and insurance companies. The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate the moisture content present in the composite materials that make up the hull.
It is expressly brought to the owner’s attention that this survey is destructive in nature, requiring the mechanical removal of antifouling and gelcoat layers in order to access the underlying polyester fibers.
In accordance with established procedures, and subject to the calibration of the measuring instrument according to ambient temperature and humidity during the various sampling points, we will produce a report specifying the moisture content detected on the hull and appendages. The report will include recommendations and procedures to follow based on the results obtained.
The survey report is provided within the limits inherent to the destructive method used and without prejudice to the legal and contractual responsibilities of the yacht owner or the shipyard.
